"Planned outage" notification

Apparently there is a planned outage affecting our service. Since this was planned why weren't we notified that it would occur?

Hello. Sorry to hear you're currently in an outage. I know outages are never any fun and we work as quickly as possible to resolve them. Outage notifications will go out ahead of time for Planned Daytime Outages. Notifications for Planned Night Outages will be posted on cox.com and the Cox app. These notifications are not posted ahead of time as not all homes operate the same way during outages. Some homes may be complete out, others may have intermittent connection or no issues at all. Unplanned events cannot be notified ahead of time as these are unforeseen events, but we'll always post an ETR once our engineers and techs are on site and evaluated the issue.
