Outgoing Mail "Server Offline"
I’m unable to send mail with Apple Mail (Pop). All settings are correct: Outgoing SMTP Port 465 with SSL enabled and password authentication (correct password is entered). This has worked well for several years and I have made no changes to any settings. I continually get a server Offline error today. This used to be a regular recurring problem but has not been problem for the past couple of years.
Is it just me or are others experiencing a problem today?

This problem started this morning (PST). I could not send or receive emails on my primary Cox email address. I called Cox...they confirmed that the problem is on their end, but could not provide a time when the problem would be corrected. I am using Outlook 2016 and like everyone else, have confirmed password and long-ins are correct. Oddly enough, I can receive emails on my other Cox email address but can't send messages on either cox email address. When will this be fixed???

I'm having the same issue on my iPhone. I have 2 separate cox email accounts and even after I deleted the one that said it was a problem, it still gave me an error saying the user name and password were invalid on the deleted account when trying to send from the other account...makes no sense.
So, I just tried outlook on my PC. Same problem. This is not a problem with Apple, as suggested above, it's a problem with Cox!

Response:
Thank you for that information, upon checking the system information it seems that there is an outage on our email platforms. We apologize for this inconvenience. Our team is working hard in order to fix this issue as soon as possible. Nevertheless if after some hours you keep having this issue, I kindly recommend you to contact us back and we will assist you further.
Also, since the Cox email platform was updated we recommend to our customers to update their device operating systems and third-party applications to the latest versions, including security patches, email client programs, or others.
Cox recommends that our Internet customers use the most current operating systems and applications. Using older versions can prevent our customers from being able to use all the features of Cox products and services.
Also, if you try to access to myemail.cox.net, you may not experience this issue.

Same situation with me. I can receive emails on my Mac and Ipad, but I can't send them. Checked everything and everything is updated. Earlier today when I called Cox there was an automated message that said they knew about the issue. And a rep I was connected to said it would be fixed in 4 or 5 hours. Now when I call the rep says that she has no knowledge of any outage and that the problem is on my end. What is going on and when will Cox fix it???

Yes, I have been having a problem sending email all day. No problems receiving. You know what B.S. Cox told me told me on live chat? To upgrade to Windows 10! What does that have to do with anything?

I have a Samsung Note 8 and having same issues with emails not being able to be sent. Tmobile had me remove email account and was not even able to load the emails back to the phone until I did what Rushd suggested; so at least got emails coming back into the phone but still can not send emails out; anyone know of a fix? Cox chats wants me to pay $10 customer care plan fee to get this issue fixed; I pay them enough do not want to pay more for issue they caused..

We have 5 different hardware devices and 2 Cox email addresses. All of these stopped sending yesterday around noon PST. Every device has the most recent operating system software, and email client software. Other people in our area also cannot send Cox email. The Cox chat representative suggested I pay an extra $10/month to fix this. When I query the Cox outage site I’m told there is a TV outage in my area- nothing about email. Why is it so difficult to get accurate outage information?

I had it all day yesterday. This morning when I rebooted, Apple Mail reported a new certificate from Cox was in use. I trusted it and all has been fine since.

I'm still having the same issue with outgoing email. I used the text feature via COX to be notified when the problem was resolved. I never got any notification this morning, and used the "reply with UPDATE" function, and got a response back that the issue has been resolved, and if issues remain to unplug devices and plug them back in.
I have shutdown all devices (including router and ONT), and powered everything back up (Ont > Router > PCs), and the issue remains. It is not fixed.
