Internet problems continually
I have internet interruptions daily for the past few months. They seem to be coming at the same time they’ve started informing that I’ve been using most of my data. This was never the case and I’ve been a customer for twenty years. This company is going down hill and I’ll have to find a solution.

I've had the same problem ever since we got a streaming box instead of a cable box from Cox. I can't even watch regular cable TV without outages since it's connected to the Internet, which I didn't realize also now counts to our monthly data cap. I would have rather have just another regular contour cable box as I already have streaming sticks. It's all constantly going out. Outages every morning and night. But we are stuck with them and the prices keep going up at least $20 a year, with a discount. Unreal wish we could switch. They are a rip off!

That could be 1 of two things. Some kind of unknown program or app that is downloading a large amount of data, probably your upload, which causes a bottleneck with your upstream DNS requests. Do you have your own router or the Panoramic gateway? If your own, try looking at the bandwidth meter and see if you can tell what is using up the extra bandwidth and see if the problem goes away when you turn that device off. If so, work on isolating further and work around issue.
Second possibility is you are having some kind of signal level problem with the signal going over the coax for service. If the signal the data is being over isn't clear and the modem has to repeat itself to Cox or visa versa, that retransmission can bloat data use. The signal problem can also cause small service disruption. Try posting your signal levels. If you have your own modem go to 192.168.100.1 in a browser but you might have to google your specific methods to your model for user/password or possible static IP(rare). If you have Cox's gateway it is a little more complex and will go into it if relevant.
As for going down hill...yea..any more down and it would be in China. They were bought by Charter/Spectrum so Cox should be a footnote in about 6-8 months. Don't people watch/read the news? Heck..I think I even heard about this on the radio.
