I can’t connect to a public hotspot anymore from my iPhone. It shows that it’s available with full bars but when I try to connect it’s just spins. Chat said it’s working “fine” but can’t provide any other help, what’s the issue?

Hi @Staira06
I know how important it is for you to have access to wifi hotspots. If you have the Cox StraightUp Internet Hotspot Pass, please contact chat at www.cox.com/.../contact-us.html or text PREPAIDWIFI to 36009 for further support and troubleshooting. If you are not using the Cox StraightUp Internet Hotspot pass, try to use another device to connect to the hotspot, is it just your iPhone or are no devices connecting to the hotspot?

It appears the iPhone and HotSpot had previously connected.  If you've been connecting to Hotspots for 2 years, the Hotspot may be waiting for you "re-authenticate" your auto-login.  Open a browser while its spinning.

From the FAQs

How do I connect to a hotspot?

...once your device connects, you can open your browser and you will be directed to a login page to use your Cox user ID and password. You only have to do this once every 2 years on your device. After your initial login, your device will connect automatically to any Cox/Cable wifi that is in range.

no it doesn’t unfortunately, sometimes when it connects to the wifi it will pop up but I’m not getting to that point. Just the part where you select the wifi network and endless spinning

it will occasionally connect from other devices but my coworkers are all experiencing the same problem. Just spins whenever we try to connect for the most part

Hi Stair06,

From your Wifi network settings, could you try forgetting the Cox WiFi network and reconnect to it to see if that will help?

Yes I’ve tried multiple times and restarted my device multiple times. Still nothing
