High Volts From Modem
So. we had Cox services a few years ago and are switching back. Received the new modem by UPS that we tried to hook up and cannot. For some reason you get shocked when you touch the modem. Had an electrician out along with our power company and both say there is nothing wrong with my house and that it is on Cox. The weird part about this is that there is no voltage in the coax but when you connect it to the modem you get 33 volts on a voltage reader. Something is not right here....Waiting on the tech to come out.

Yea, defiantly need a technician. Some questions when the technician gets there:
Does the voltage go away when you unplug the coaxial from the modem(gateway)?
What about when you unplug the power and leave the coaxial in?
Does swapping to a new gateway make a difference?

Do you have it plugged in to a grounded outlet or a grounded power strip?
