Firmware update

I called to get the latest firmware update pushed to the modem and the tech support lady had no idea what firmware was.  She wanted to send a service man to the house to replace the wires on the outside of the house.  Then she said she couldn’t update the firmware, even though she saw that the firmware was out of date, because only the manufacture can do that for a netgear cm1000.  Anyone else have this issue with tech support? Anyone know another way to update firmware to a modem besides the ISP?

Provide your information to Allan. I've provided my information to them before via email and they pushed a new firmware update to my modem.

There is also an issue with the latest Netgear Firmware. See the following Cox forum post:

Sent that forum along with a copy of the netgear response about firmware updates to the cox.help@cox.com... I get the same old tired response that it’s the manufactures responsibility to update the firm ware and not cox.  They are trying to get me to buy the total care in order to help me... it’s a joke and nothing but a sales line to get you to buy something.
