Email account is deactivating after moving my service to a new address

I recently moved to a new house and transferred my account, now Cox is telling me I have new account number and my email address of 20 years, that I still use, is being deactivated. Anyone else have this issue?

I've had Cox High Speed Internet for 20 years and have moved several times. I've never had this happen before.

Cox stopped issuing email addresses to new accounts; however, if you've only transferred your existing account to a new billing address, your email account should be still valid.

Send an email to cox.help@cox.com with your full name, new and previous addresses and the URL of this post for resolve.

Thanks for the reply Bruce. And, wow, I did not know that. I did reach out to customer service, and they confirmed that since I could log in using my cox email creds, that my account is linked properly and that I could disregard the notification about my email being deactivated. Fingers crossed...

Keep your fingers crossed for the next 30 days because 30 days is the time span to deactivate email accounts.  Cox gives you 30 days to create a new email address, notify your contacts, update your accounts, etc.

Yes, your account is linked properly because it hasn't been 30 days.  I guess what the Help Desk needs to verify is if your account is scheduled to deactivate in the next 30 days.

Call cox tech support, and ensure they have transferred your email account and ID's to your new account. You can always check by logging on to Cox.net, and going to your current bill, and ensuring it shows your NEW address. If it shows your OLD address, it hasn't been transferred to your new account address, and 60 - 90 days after service is turned off, email accounts get deleted, UNLESS transferred to the new account. Like I said, the way to ensure, login and see what the address is associated with the email account.

Confirmed! My new address is showing on my current bill so I think I'm good to go. Thanks for the response!

TiffanyR said Cox has a 90-day email grace period when service is cancelled in this post.  She verified that the email address will be transferred if service is transferred to a new address.
