Cox Communications Survey

I received an email from Cox Communications offering an Amazon gift card for the completion of a survey.  Is this legitimate?  Here is the survey link information:

Cox Communications has commissioned Marketing Evolution and Decipher Inc. to administer this survey on our behalf. Click on the link below to get started!

This sounds to be legitimate. Please forward the email to us with the same question (to cox.help@cox.com) so that we can verify if it is or not.

Cox wasted their money for a survey.  Consumer Reports surveyed 176,000 subscribers last year and Cox is mediocre at best:

 - Internet, TV, Phone Bundle Service:  Cox ranked 12 of 19; percentile rank 33%
 - Internet-Only Service:  Cox ranked 16 of 33; percentile rank 38%
 - TV Only Service:  Cox ranked 16 of 25; percentile rank 38%

Agreed. It leans too much on being a corporation than concern for its customers. There is nothing in place for such in their customer service. A very dated model in a modern society, which of course compliments cable, itself, today.

Mediocre is a generous word with those failing numbers. If that was a report card, they would fail completely. Cox is kinda like a big mouth kid who hides behind his big brother while running his mouth. They are shielded from any consequences because they have no competition

I got the same survey. I’m furious with Cox for raising my bill by $40 this year so I wanted to give them an earful! And get the $8 gift card. When I got to the end it asked for my email which I entered. But it wouldn’t let me submit. Ticked off again, I went to Cox technical support. The rep told me it sounded like a scam. He asked for the url. I copied it and tried to send but just as I was about to send it the internet went down. Wouldn’t you know it! I called their support and asked if the survey was legit, and that rep said it was not. It didn’t ask me for anything personal beyond household income range. Asked a ton of questions about radio/tv viewing habits and whether I was familiar with various service providers. I’m generally wary of things but this one sure seemed like the real deal. Now I’m spinning wheels to be sure I wasn’t hacked.

Hello, we understand the anger and frustration you must feel, and we're truly sorry to have caused that. If you'd like, please send us an email at cox.help@cox.com, we can always have a specialist reach out to you in regards to your services and see if there's a package that better suits your financial budget. It's possible that a campaign promotion had expired, causing the bill to sharply increase. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator
