Why was there a price increase in the NW Arkansas area?

I was paying 56.99 and all of a sudden now my bill reflects a charge of 62.99. There was no notification to me just a sudden increase in price. I'm already paying a great amount for a slow speed. Response?

Hi Cypher,

There was a slight price change for customers who subscribe only to Cox High Speed Internet services. As consumers spend more time online using more bandwidth than ever to support their entertainment and communications needs, Cox's costs for providing broadband service has increased proportionately. Most Cox markets, including your area, have already received internet speed increases this year. (You'll want to confirm that you are using a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to enjoy the faster speeds.)

All customers, including customers who are signed up for "paperless billing," are notified of any account changes through the monthly statement, at least 30 days prior to the effective change. The announcement was on Page 1 of your October statement. I apologize that you missed the notifications and were surprised by the change!

You can view your statements online by signing into http://ww2.cox.com/myconnection/home.cox with your Cox Primary User Name and password. Also, you can choose what type of notifications you would like to receive from Cox. To change your notification preferences, use the following link:  https://ww2.cox.com/aboutus/email-preference-center.cox

Looking for a different company because this happened to me as well. Hopefully another internet provider will give me the same speed or better for less than $63 a month, and hopefully they won't be able to bump the prices up whenever they feel like it.

As noted on the forum homepage and each forum's sticky post, these forums are for technical topics, so to discuss billing issues we must direct everyone to contact their local account services department during their normal hours at the numbers listed here or contact us via the alternate methods other than forums listed in the sticky. This thread will now be locked as it is off-topic. Thank you.
