Whole House DVR - Cisco Error Code 2d

I have just had WHDVR - Cisco installed and get the problem described below. I thought it was my TV or Bose system. However I did a search of your forums and found that there are others who have the same problem. So - should I give back the box, they also placed a device in line on my internet connection that causes my system to run slower than before here is the name of the hardware screwed into the line going to my modeum - GLR 1002B1 ( I also sent this message to the internet forum).

Obviously Cox has not fixed the problem. Just had WHDVR installed 2 days ago.  I too get an error code of "2d" but my problem is not with the audio it is the video format - my TV says blinks from picture to black screen and indicates "Unsupported Format" shows "2d" as the error code on the Cisco WHDVR. After it warms up the picture holds but takes 2-3 minutes. I did what this guy (Will Rogers)l did to attempt to isolate the problem by running cable directly from the TV to the various inputs.  Looks like a Cox problem.

Cox, Tell me what to do. Switch to Dish? Jan 26 2013

2d indicates that the HDCP function of the HDMI connection is trying to handshake and apparently failing in your case.  If you've tried a direct connection and different ports on the TV it's likely a box issue.  I would suggest arranging for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

I get the 2d error whenever I switch my a/v receiver from the Cisco STB to any other source (e.g. blu ray player). As long as the a/v source is not Cisco, the Cisco displays 2d on its display (it flashes on and off every 1/2 second or so). I guess it could be that it keeps trying to do the hdcp handshake and getting no response, but is there any way to suppress this? (other than by powering off the box, which would presumably interfere with recording schedule)?

Powering the DVR on or off has NO effect on the recording schedule. You can toggle the DVR ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON/OFF etc., during a recording and see no change when you watch the recording.
