Whole Home DVR with Trio Program Guide / DNLA feature setup and usage

I just received by mail and e-mail notification that my Whole Home DVR with Trio Program Guide now supports DNLA.  My question is, how do I get my network to see my DVR so that I can play recorded shows from it.  Do I need to plug it into the network via the ethernet port, my network does not see the mocha network setup.  Or is there additional equipment I need to buy, or is this feature not actually available yet?  I called in to cox technical support and no on had any clue what I was talking about

I just set this up in my home recently.  Officially it only works with Playstation 3's at this time however you may be able to get it working with any device that supports DLNA/DTCP-IP.  If you have a host box close enough to your home network router/switch you dont' need to use an external MoCA bridge.

Trio STB Steps:

1.  Connect host box to router/switch using Ethernet cable.

2.  Enter Trio diagnostics by holding [EXIT] button on the remote until the green power lights begins to flash then press [DOWN ARROW][DOWN ARROW][2].

3.  Scroll down to home networking and ensure that your box now has an IP address valid on your home network (i.e. 192.168.x.x although this may vary depending on your setup).

Playstation 3:

1.  Ensure your Playstation 3 is connected to your home network and can access network features.

2.  Scroll to the Settings tab then down to Date and Time settings, ensure that Set Automatically is set to On.

3.  Back to Settings and select System Settings.

4.  Scroll down and select Enable DTCP-IP.

5.  Your host DVR box(s) should now be visible under the Video/Media menu by the last 6 digits of their MAC address.

6.  If you have multiple host boxes on your Trio network they will also be visible via the MoCA bridge of the box connected to your router/switch.

I followed your instructions and now my stb is seen on the network as cisco media server.  I don't know if this is allowed or not but I tried opening my windows 7 windows media player.  It sees Cisco Media Server under libraries.  I select it then choose videos.  I see every video recorded on my dvr but when I try to play on it says "Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct."  Is there something else I need to to to possibly grant "permission" for my other devices to stream this video?

I saw the same however I was not able to get it to work.  Officially the Playstation 3 is the only platform that has been tested and known to work however like I mentiond it should work with other platforms that support DLNA and DTCP-IP.
