Which cable box???
I now have an HD cable box. Do I need to get a different one if I get a 4K TV?

An HD box will work just fine with a 4K TV. At the present 4K content is not being broadcast by any networks.

Grandmakitty, please don't let a Best Buy (or whichever store you visit) employee sucker you into buying a 4K UHD TV... There is NO CONTENT currently broadcasting in 4K on cable TV, the only 4K you'll have access to is through streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., and only certain shows are in 4K, not all shows.
If you fully understand that and you already have a subscription to Netflix UHD, then by all means, buy that 4K set.

Yeah...tell the salesman to find another sucker and save your cash. Get a nice Samsung 2k.
