What plugin is needed to compose emails online?
WHAT THE *** IS THE DEAL?
I've sent emails to people from the Cox webmail site before and now all of a sudden it won't do it without some extra plugin? What plugin would that be??

Looks like its broken for me too. I made sure I was running latest java, added a exception webmail.cox.net and webmail-images.cox.net and still the certificate gets revoked. Looks like Cox isn't keeping on top of their certificate updates.
I would suggest using plain text by clicking on "Plain" on the top right side of email, or going into settings > preferences and unchecking "By default, compose messages using the graphical editor ".
The other option would be to use enhanced webmail until Cox fixes it. See here on how to do that.
See here for picture of the revoke for technical details. Hoping a moderator will come back and say this is a known issue.

Is the error message you are seeing the same as what Heath Edge posted once you click on the "More Information" button? I want to be sure I am reporting these issues accurately for each of you so we can get this resolved for you.
Also, if you can each please let me know what operating system and browser(s) you've used.

Tried on 1 laptop and one desktop, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Tried both Chrome Version 41.0.2272.101 m and MSIE 11 and using Java 8 Update 40. See below for "More Info" window.
Seems the problem is one of the certificate expired in January, but the problem didn't occur until update 40 because thats when Java removed Medium Security. All you can do is pick High and Very High. Adding an exception just puts it as "Medium Security" and not a total exception like before.

Also here is a link outlining the latest update to Java and how it relates to this problem;
This is the minimum recommended (and default) security level setting. Applications that are signed with a valid or expired certificate and include the Permissions attribute in the manifest for the main JAR file are allowed to run with security prompts. Applications are also allowed to run with security prompts when the revocation status of the certificate cannot be checked. All other applications are blocked.

Yes, it seems that we're having the same problem. I've tried to compose an email on the newest versions of Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. Also, using Chrome on my android phone.
I thought I was using the enhanced version of email but was not. I am able to compose emails when using the enhanced version but not the classical. At least that's the case using Firefox.
Thank you and Heath Edge for the help.
Mike

HTML Editor does not work for me either. I've been advised that this is a known issue and it has been suggested that customers use Plain Text or sign in to Enhanced WebMail instead. I'll let you know if I get any additional information.
