What do I do with the Ethernet Port on 4742 HDC Cisco Set Top Box?

I have plugged this set top box into my router via ethernet and was able to view some of the device information on Network in Windows Explorer, but that's all I could figure out. I have also plugged it into my computer through ethernet, and wasn't able to do anything. What am I supposed to do with this port? Am I allowed to stream tv to my computer?

The RJ-45 Ethernet connector offers many LAN functions, but is software controlled. Alas, current Cox software doesn't support this connector.

Thanks for the info (I couldn't find anything about this elsewhere). Do you know anywhere else I could find info, or do you know of any uses?

"● Ethernet Connection enables a connection to the home IP LAN for advanced services such as content
sharing to the set-top from retail-purchased electronic devices."
