Yes, watching internet TV is streaming. Each plan has a data cap, total amount of data you can transfer per month measured in gigabytes, and streaming counts against you data cap. For example, the Preferred plan allows 350GB of data per month. Your internet is online 24/7 (hopefully) and there is no such thing "usage minutes".

This has been questioned. As per here:
"Cox managed content accessed through these Cox-provided services requiring a separate subscription does not count toward your Data Plan." -coxlouisiana
So maybe it shouldn't count against your cap, but it still does?

Boy, that thread you referenced Teck, makes everything perfectly cloudy. From reading it looks like some don't count but some, like ESPN & HBO, do. Maybe a Mod can clarify.

The following Cox-provided services do not count toward your Data Plan:
• Video on Demand and TV content accessed through the Contour or Cox TV Connect app
• Cox Digital Telephone
• Cox Homelife
Other activities, such as using the Contour Guide, watching TV Everywhere content on cox.com, and accessing a third-party app on your device will count toward your monthly Data Plan. Examples of third-party apps: HBO GO, WATCH ESPN, and Fox Sports GO.
