Using Slingbox product with Cox DVR and cable programming
Does anyone have experience with watching Cox DVR recorded shows or cable programming using the Slingbox 500?
Is there a minimum internet download speed needed for it to work at the remote receiving end?
Are there programs that are blocked?

Never owned a Slingbox before, but I have set a couple up, and used others for testing. Slingbox seems to have some good Youtube videos describing the product, so thats a good place to start. Here is the one for the Slingbox 500.
Whats special about the Slingbox 500 is it has HDMI passthrough. This means you can connect your DVR to the Slingbox via HDMI, then from Slingbox to TV, also using HDMI. The problem is HDMI uses something called HDCP to encrypt the signal from point A to B, for example, from DVR to TV. This can cause issues, and is better described in this video. Im pretty sure HDCP effects the general connection between devices, and isn't effected by the encryption flag which controls how many times the media can be copied. But if someone has more experience then I, and can correct me on this, please do.
As for network requirements, those can be found here and are:
Minimum Network Bandwidth
Video quality is dependent on network speed and conditions.
Also, I searched through their forums for anything specifically Cox related, and didn't find anything particular troublesome. Mostly user error and questions about remotes. I did find one non Cox related thread that mentioned the newest firmware may not be the best, so you might not want to upgrade. But take that with a grain of salt.
