Upstream Channels Power Level:
I have been having connection issues lately. It has been so bad that I have resorted to moving my modem outside to test the power levels, This is what I have found.
Below are my modem reading directly connected to the cable before it enters my house.
Downstream Channels
Power Level: Signal to Noise Ratio:
Channel 1: 7.2 dBmV 38.9 dB
Channel 2: 7.0 dBmV 39.0 dB
Channel 3: 7.4 dBmV 38.4 dB
Channel 4: 5.3 dBmV 38.2 dB
Channel 5: 4.6 dBmV 38.2 dB
Channel 6: 6.2 dBmV 38.7 dB
Channel 7: 6.4 dBmV 38.2 dB
Channel 8: 6.2 dBmV 37.8 dB
Upstream Channels
Power Level:
Channel 1: 50.5 dBmV
Channel 2: 51.2 dBmV
Channel 3: 53.2 dBmV
Channel 4: 52.2 dBmV
This next set are power levels when the modem is connected to the output of the splitter outside my house.
Output of 1st Splitter.
Downstream Channels
Power Level: Signal to Noise Ratio:
Channel 1: 0.8 dBmV 38.3 dB
Channel 2: 0.4 dBmV 37.8 dB
Channel 3: 0.6 dBmV 37.4 dB
Channel 4: -0.4 dBmV 37.5 dB
Channel 5: -0.8 dBmV 36.2 dB
Channel 6: -0.4 dBmV 37.5 dB
Channel 7: 0.2 dBmV 37.6 dB
Channel 8: -1.3 dBmV 36.0 dB
Upstream Channels
Power Level:
Channel 1: 54.0 dBmV
Channel 2: 53.7 dBmV
Channel 3: 0.0 dBmV
Channel 4: 0.0 dBmV
The power levels of the cable run into you utility room from 1st splitter.
End of run connected to output of 1st splitter in utility room.
Downstream Channels

Upstream Channels
Power Level:
Channel 1: 54.0 dBmV
Channel 2: 53.7 dBmV
Channel 3: 0.0 dBmV
Channel 4: 0.0 dBmV
Lastly the power levels out of the 2nd splitter that normally feeds my Modem and Main TV.

When I’m down the modem does this
Power light is always solid
DS light starts blinking
DS light goes solid after about 30 seconds, and US light starts blinking
After another 30 seconds or so, DS, US and the online light blinks at the same time for 4-5 times, then all lights except power go out.
Cycle repeats

Those Tx (upstream) levels are ridiculously low (the number is backwards....a higher value means low signal, 35 would be the high end of the acceptable range) Your best bet would be to try and get a tech out to get a reading getting over to the house. If it's the wire coming over-head or underground to the house that can be replaced on the spot (if it's underground a temporary line will be laid out until the bury crew can get a new line in there). If it's the main system that *could* be resolved that day or in the next 72 hours. There's a slim chance it could be the modem but I'd wait to see what a tech finds before buying a new one.

About a year ago I replaced the modem, but I continued to have periodic outages. But I was OK with replacing the modem since it was the same one I had since 2004. I will call in and request some one come out and take a look. I know the lines in the ground are the original since around 1995 when COX had dual cable lines to each home.
I have underground cabling but the run from the COX ground box is only 15 feet from my property line.
Thank You
