Upgraded to premier from preferred and no speed increase - have the 3.0 modem surfboard 6180
I have a Surfboard 6180 the 3.0 modem and yet with the upgrade to premier...no speed increase...I do see in a lot of the post that a flag needed to be set in a config file and have been on hold for the last hr. I do see that posting here can help with it. Can anyone help me? ChrisL??

Your in luck, the SB6180 is one of the few modems that can show you the config file. Should be under the "Help" menu I think, but might need to explore around. See here to access modems UI. Configuration file should be 160001_vm2.0_d.cfg but might be a little different for your area.
Is your modem bonding on downstream? Second light from top should be blue. Also, did you bypass your router and connect direct to modem to test speeds? Last, if all else fails, post your signal levels from the "Connect" menu from the modems UI.

Your downstream power and SNR is a little on the low side, but should be enough for "close" to the Premier speed. What speed results are you getting?
Config file "MC161001_vm2.0_d.cfg" looks good though. So you can rule that out at least.

Im not asking if they were the same. I am asking for the actual results. Download speed, upload speed, latency, etc. Might give a clue on whats causing the issue. When you say "noticeable" how are you gauging that?

And this is after removing the router? Weird. Im not sure. The fact that the download stayed so simular makes me think their was some bottleneck prior thats still in place, but I can't think of what it might be. I guess it could just be your low signal, but Im not sure. Anyone else have any ideas?
