I have upgraded to the premier tier with hopes of receiving faster dl speeds.. A few days later, and resetting all electronics I've had no such luck in anything other than mirroring the same service I previously had.
. My Modem is a SB6120.
Perhaps service codes need to be changed on the ISP end?
Thanks in advance.

What speeds are you getting? May need to upgrade modem. Premier is usually 125Mb down,13Mbps up with powerboost. A single DOCSIS band can hold about 16Mbs. 16 X 4 64Mbp > 125Mbps. As per Cox approved modems, Cox suggests a 8x4 channel DOCSIS model like the SB6141, Cisco DPC3010, or Zoom 5341j. You can use the older modem but the speed will depend on congestion on the 4 bands you use in your area.

Get used to Cox messing you over. I also have Premier which advertises speeds UP TO 100Mbps download speeds. UP TO being the key if you try to talk to anyone. I have the SB6141 modem that cox suggest, but I constantly get less than 20Mbps speeds and usually less than 10 or even 5. . . At midnight on the dot each night, my speed will jump up to well above 100Mbps download speeds which pretty much tells me that Cox is doing this on their end purposely to their customers. I also notice when certain shows are on with high ratings, internet speeds are bogged down pretty bad. Seems like an easy way to insure you get Cox cable and not a streaming service for live TV which relies on a good internet connection.

I looked at your account and modem and everything appears to be correct from this end. I would agree that the 6120 isn't recommended for Premier service having only 4 downstream channels. As was suggested already I'd visit http://www.cox.com/residential/support/internet/article.cox?articleId=b2ec95d0-7ef9-11df-5590-000000000000 for more information on modems approved for use on our network as well as recommendations by tier of service.

When I try to look at your modem from here I see a significant amount of packet loss which would probably explain the speeds you're seeing. It may be time to have a technician come out and investigate further.
