Upgraded NEW MODEM DOCSIS 3.0 but speed still caps at 32 mbps!!
Just recently upgraded my modem from Docsis 2.0 to Docsis 3.0 (motorola SB6121) but I'm still get speed 32mbps. I lived in kansas and I know cox just recently upgraded preferred customer from 25 to 50 mbps connection. Anyone having the same issue? From searching the forum it seems like most people having issue with old service code on their account.

why does this seem to be an issue for everyone? I too upgraded to a SB6183 and can only manage 32mb download and 6mb upload. I hoped maybe it was my router but had the same results wired directly to modem. any help would be appreciated. G

I had to play with it a little more but I finally got the modem config right. If you still see speed issues I'd suggest testing again without the router. It looks like the one currently attached may be an older model not suitable for currently available Internet speeds.

Bwahaha, TWENTY FIVE pages and cox STILL doesn't just do a sweeping update to the service codes! Why is it not possible? You've put 300 people through calling tech support or posting on the forum (probly a lot more than 300, this IS just the forum not phone calls) and wasting their time when you know it's a constant issue and almost no new upgrade is going to run right without a service code update.
Have I said before how STUPID THIS IS OF COX??

I just recently changed to new docsis 3.0 modem/router combo. I'm only an essential customer, sigh, but I'm only getting 3mbps download, shouldn't I be getting at least 5?

Hello, I have the same problem as everyone else, Premier maxing out at 32 Mbps. I verified it's not my router or connection. I tried getting it resolved with support through online chat, and he reset the modem from his end, but no change. Could a Moderator here please check my account? Thank You.

To speak to your point there actually is a sweeping process in place to fix this. I believe it runs nightly or every few nights. Most of the customers posting here are wanting it done sooner which we're happy to do.

If you're on Essential the benefits of upgrading to a DOCSIS 3.0 device will be lesser. I'd suggest testing with a wired device first to see if you get your expected speeds that way.

@ ChrisL
I'm experiencing this same issue. I just upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to take advantage of the double speed. Can you help me out? I'm still getting the exact same download speeds as my DOCSIS 2.0. I switched everything over with Cox support yesterday.
Cox Preferred Internet and SB6121 modem.

Please add our account to the list.
We recently upgraded from a Motorola SB5120 Docsis 2 to a Motorola SB6183 Docsis 3 modem.
We are on the preferred 100mb plan.
We are only seeing 32mb download speeds.
The computer is hardwired into the Modem.
There are no splitters on the coax.
Tech rep already visited the house and said all the levels look good.
I am also only seeing 4 channels.
That is probably enough to support 100mb download speeds though.
Thanks!
Update 2:30 AZ time: Received email response on ticket I had submitted which reads, "In order to assist you, the Internet code in your account has been changed to Premier DOCSIS 3." Testing the speed afterwards does not yield any faster speeds. I unplugged the modem and rebooted my computer. Same result afterwards. Does the change take some time?0

@tiffanyR I too have upgraded to a docsis 3.0 motorola 6121 and have preferred internet. I set this up earlier today with tech support and seem capped at 32mbps downstream as well. Can you take a look at mine?
Thank you
