Upgraded NEW MODEM DOCSIS 3.0 but speed still caps at 32 mbps!!

Just recently upgraded my modem from Docsis 2.0 to Docsis 3.0 (motorola SB6121) but I'm still get speed 32mbps. I lived in kansas and I know cox just recently upgraded preferred customer from 25 to 50 mbps connection. Anyone having the same issue? From searching the forum it seems like most people having issue with old service code on their account.

Just tested as 59.58 Mbps download! I didn't even have to reboot my cable modem or anything.

Thanks, Chris! Thanks to everyone posting here and helping call attention to it, so glad I ran into this thread. Cheers.

Can you please check mine? I am only getting 3Mb/s download.

3Mbps won't be a provisioning issue but more likely a technical issue.  Make sure you're testing with a wired connection for best results.  The only thing I see on this end is indications that power might be an issue.  If you have your gateway connected to a power strip with a lot of other devices you could try moving it to a different circuit to see if there is any change.

Dear MODS,

When you get a chance, would you please check mine?  Today, upgraded to the Cisco DPC3010 and just tested speeds (via Ookla) prior to this post:

Ping: 35ms

DL:  32.40

UL:  3.54

Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,

Same issue as OP, upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0 modem today but still capping out at ~31 Mbps download.  Preferred Service I believe should ~50 Mbps.

Thanks

Your modem appears to be offline when I look from this end.  Can you tell me what the lights are doing?

Sorry Chris, called phone support while waiting for a reply.  She's had me turn on and off the modem a few times with no luck / change yet... If the issue persists after my call, I'll let you know.

By the Way, Power, Down, Up, and Internet lights are all Green, no blue lights except for the PC connection.

Thanks

I see the modem back online now and it doe appear to be correctly provisioned.  Note that if you're testing your speeds using a wireless-G device they will also max out right around the low 30's.  I suggest testing with a wired gigabit device for the best possible results.

I'm sorry to post on an old thread, but I'm only getting 5-6 mbps download speeds using a docsis 3.0, while upload speed doesn't seem to be affected.  Everything used to be fine until the recent "speed upgrade".  Cox technical support claims everything looks good from their end.  Speedtest.net results in 5-6 down while the tester on the cox site says 3.6 down.  I'm paying for 50 mb so shouldn't I be getting at least that?  Techs that come out can't find the issue either.

I also just upgraded to a Motorola SBG6580 but my speeds are still registering at <20 upload and <6 download.  Would you please check my settings too???   I am Preferred tier and should be 50 upload.

Please please please help me!!!

Thanks

I fixed the provisioning on our end however the signal levels being reported by the modem are horrible.  It may be necessary to have a tech come out if you continue to see problems.

The signal levels for the modem do not show any problems currently, are you testing the speeds through wireless or a hardwired connection there?
