Upgraded NEW MODEM DOCSIS 3.0 but speed still caps at 32 mbps!!
Just recently upgraded my modem from Docsis 2.0 to Docsis 3.0 (motorola SB6121) but I'm still get speed 32mbps. I lived in kansas and I know cox just recently upgraded preferred customer from 25 to 50 mbps connection. Anyone having the same issue? From searching the forum it seems like most people having issue with old service code on their account.

Hello Chris or Tiffany, we recently upgraded to a Docsis 3.0 Modem for our Premier package and we are also seeing a cap at 32mbps during speed tests on cox's website and other locations. As far as I can read, the modem has proper signal strength and has bonded correctly. If there is anything you can do for us as you have others in this post to help us get to our advertised speed, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a new Docsis 3.0 Motorola surfboard extreme modem and gigabit router. my speed (without speed boost) caps around 23-32 MBPS My brother recently moved and is able to tae advantage of the high 100 MBPS We have the same xo internet premier plans. How can i take advantage of the higher speeds? I called support and was told i would just have to leave my modem plugged in an the speed would increase automatically but my modem has been plugged in since may 2014 I have been a cox customer for 10 years, i am a bit jealous my brother is getting faster internet speeds as a new customer :)

Same issue for me as original poster. Just activated a retail SB6141 and only getting 33 mbps on new modem. Tiffany, Ed, or Chris, if you wouldn't mind taking a look into my account service code at your convience, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, Mike

I am experiencing the same issue. I am a Cox High Speed Internet Preferred customer, and swapped out my DCP2100R2 modem with a Cisco DPC3010 modem this evening. There was an issue with the on line activation, so I had to call technical support to get it completed. The gentleman who helped me had no knowledge of any increase in speed for my plan, nor did he have any information concerning the service code swap that I have been reading about in the forum. Can someone please check my account and/or modem to verify that all is as it should be. My speed test, through the COX site, shows 32M down. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Good to go now. Appreciate the quick response. Assuming it was the Service codes?
Regardless, thanks Tiffany!

Thanks, Tiffany -- modem test is 23 down, 18 up. Has high speed internet even come to my area?

So, last week, after the announcement of high speed internet in our area, at the suggestion of Cox Support, we upgraded our modem, we pay for high speed internet, but we don't get it? I'm confused.....

@scw15108 the modem is showing the correct service codes and current version of firmware. How are you testing the speeds through wireless or hardwired there?
