Upgrade Issues
I recently upgraded to Ultimate for 300Gbps down, and a new (SB6183) modem. I'm only getting about 175Gbps down at this point. Do I need firmware update? Modem has already been registered with Cox, etc. What else could it be? My wireless router (newest Apple AirPort Time Capsule) is excellent and gave me almost every drop of Gbps on my previous service (Premiere). Thanks for any help you can share!

I am confused, Premiere is 100Mbps, how did you get "almost every drop of Gbps"? I assume that's a typo, you meant Mbps on all your speeds. How are you measuring the 175Mbps? At 175Mbps you are getting significantly faster service than Premiere but not up to the 300Mbps level of Ultimate.
If you are measuring via WiFi, please try connection wired direct to the modem. This will eliminate the router and isolate the problem to the cable line/modem or router. If you get around 300Mbps wired to the modem, try adding the router back and connect wired to an Ethernet port on the router. Remember, anytime you change connections. turn off all devices, make your connections, power up the modem, wait for it to fully boot up before powering on your modem or PC.

Thanks for replying Allen! Unfortunately, I don't have an Ethernet on my MacBook Pro, so there's no way to test that.
You're right about "Gbps." I meant to say, my Wi-Fi signal got near Ethernet speeds, usually above 100Mbps, so I know my router gets the advertised speeds. I've reset everything I can: modem, router, MacBook Pro, and iPhone.
I was thinking firmware, or something related to that?

You report 175Mbps so you are getting will above the 100Mbps you were getting. That doesn't rule out the router or WiFi connection as the bottleneck. I have a laptop capable of wireless ac, show a connection rated at 433Mbps but get about half of that (~200Mbps) transferring files to my networked drive. I get about 400Mbps transferring files from my gigabit wired desktop to the same NAS. That's why I suggested working from the modem forward to isolate the bottleneck.
I don't know if a firmware update is available for your modem ... someone from Cox would have to answer that. I just wouldn't rule anything out at this point ... your system is no better than the weakest link. Our task is to find & fix that link

I'm showing lots of uncorrectables now too! Might be a line problem...

Do you mean you have a Macbook Air? Every MBP I have seen has had a ethernet port. A test needs to b e performed wired from modem to a computer to isolate the problem.

No, I mean MacBook Pro. The newest Apple notebooks do not include Ethernet ports, except through a USB (or Thunderbolt) to Ethernet adaptor, which I don't have. I'll have to wait for Cox technician to take a look at my setup. I show thousands of uncorrectable for each channel on my new cable modem.

I reported 175Mbps down because I recently upgraded to Ultimate, which reaches speeds up to 300Mbps. Previously, I had Premiere, which reaches 100Mbps. Obviously, I need an Ethernet adaptor or a Cox technician to take a look at it. Thanks for your replies!

What is the uptime on the modem? Some amount of uncorrectables are normal over time. If your getting 1000's in one day, that is obviously a problem. Can you post the signal levels?
Also, is your username tied to your account? If not, you may want to email cox.help@cox.com with your account info and reference this link to have them take a look.
