Turn Off WiFi hotspot sign-in prompt on my phone
I only recently became a Cox subscriber when I moved to a new apartment. Somehow, Cox has hijacked my mobile phone so that whenever I am out and about I constantly get a WiFi sign-in popup prompt on my phone. I hit the back button to escape it, but it continues to take over my phone every few seconds preventing me from texting or doing anything else with my phone. It's absolutely maddening. I cannot sign in to Cox WiFi because my service is only Essential and not Preferred or above, as required. I'm not about to upgrade for any reason! I have turned off Network Notification, which I haven't tested yet, but may prevent this interruption from happening, but it will also create a new problem for me. I shouldn't have to do this - is there a way to stop this intrusion without having to turn off otherwise desirable features?

A phone doesn't know the difference between Cox's hotspots and any other open WiFi network. If you have Network Notification on, your phone will notify you of the available network, regardless if you can signon or not. I'll assume you have an Android phone, this is a function of Android, not something Cox, or any other provider, is doing. Nobody hijacked your phone. You can try to forget both CoxWiFi and CableWiFI networks, that may help. If you need help doing this, what version of Android are you using?
