telephone outages

I wondered how many subscribers have experienced telephone outages. We get a few every year....even in fair weather conditions. I have lived at my current address for about 5 years and even though Cox has installed large uninterruptable power supplies, we still get outages. I lived at my previous address for over 9 years using a good old AT&T land line and never had an outage....rain or shine. While the quality of Cox phone is good when it works, the reliability **. Fortunately we have a cell phone in case of emergency. But what if we didn't have a cell phone and had an emergency?
