Strict NAT
I play on PC with friends and my connection is always hard to sustain. It drops randomly but my friends have cox as well but they do not have the same issues I do. I have attempted Port Forwarding which helps sometimes but it is becoming a hassle and is really annoying to do every time I play a new game.
Also my games are always telling me I have Strict NAT which again, I have tried port forwarding and just about anything I can find on my end.
My connection goes from the wall to a modem then to a WiFi router which out of that I have an Ethernet cable straight into my computer. I have a motorola modem and a belkin router.

First, what model modem and router?
Also, the games that say have strict NAT, are they only on the PC?
Also, when the connection with the game cuts out, does the internet connection as well?
Last, what ports have you tried forwarding and what games do you mostly play?

WiFi router is model F5D231-4 v1
modem is Motorola SURFboard model: SB5101U
As of right now I am playing Rainbow Six Siege and it is telling me that my NAT is strict but i have had problems with almost all games. I do not play on my xbox anymore.
The connection does not always cut out when I am dropped from in game. Sometimes it does though. Like right now I am watching the communication software I use to chat with friends. Dolby Axon, cut in and out claim connection issues.
I have forwarded to many to put on here.

May or may not be related to your issue, but.... that equipment is ANCIENT man, the modem is DOCSIS 2.0 and, if I found the correct router, it's a G router. What speed tier do you currently pay for?
Is this your router? http://www.speedguide.net/routers/belkin-f5d7231-4-wireless-g-plus-router-74

What you are telling us is you are playing "Rainbow Six Siege", a brand new game to be released next week .... are you using the open beta version? And you are trying to do this on decade old equipment. I've never been a fan of Belkin products especially older ones from the mid to late 2000's. I would try eliminating the router and connect direct to the modem, that DOCSIS 2 modem should be good for 30Mbps or so. Connecting directly to the modem will help isolate the issue to either the modem/line or router.
One last thing, what are the specs of the PC you are using, does it have the power to run modern games? What is the actual router model, I found 7231, 8231 and 9231 but not the model number you posted.

I definitely agree with trying to remove the router and see if it's better direct to the modem. With that kind of equipment, you should not even bother using wifi.

Do you mean a Belkin F5D5231-4? If so, the router and modem is OLLLLD. Like the router is 13 years old. Even with port forwarding I would be surprised it would work better. What kind of speed are you getting from that? I am going to guess you have a pretty decent PC, you may want to invest some in your network too.
