[Solved] Upgraded to Premier, speeds half of what they were before upgrade!
I took advantage of the special and upgraded to Premier from Preferred this morning. Before the upgrade , I regularly got 50-60 Mb download but after the upgrade I only get 33 Mb download. Modem has been rebooted several times and nothing else has changed. Is there something else that needs to be done? Modem is a Zoom 5341J that is on the supported list up to Ultimate.

The chat rep just said she needed to enter a code. Modem restarted and I had 100 mb speeds. Not sure why it went backwards in speed the first time

When I look from this end the modem appears to be online but it's not showing any device connected for Internet access. Could you try connecting a PC directly to the modem and see if that works?

I'm having the same problem as markar. I have Preferred, but I am only getting 33 Mbps download. Can someone update my service code and modem provisioning?

Your account appears to be setup correctly but the signal levels reported by the modem don't look very good. Are there any cable splitters you can try bypassing?

Yes, there was one splitter for the modem and television. I bypassed it, but the speed was the same. We remember a Cox technician who installed our initial setup for the "bundle" years back saying he didn't change the whole cable wiring for our setup, so part of it is old cable and part of it is new.

I looked again however it appears there's been no improvement in the signal levels. It may be time to have a tech come take a closer look at the setup.

The router was off, and I was at work so I couldn't turn it back on. I do have a splitter and a motorola signal booster. The booster improved my signal before I upgraded to hd service and upgraded my modem. Its now a cisco dpc3010. I hooked up straight from the wall outlet to the cable modem. I checked the signal levels, but I have no idea what they should be. The webpage for the modem shows 8 channels. With the straight connection power levels were all around -1.5 and snr was in the mid 30's. Now I replaced the cable from the wall to a new cable (other looked really old) and reconnected through the splitter and signal booster. Now the power levels are for channel 1 : power = 7.5dBmV and snr = 38.6dB and each subsequent channel drops from those values down to channel 8: power = 3.6 snr = 30.8. I ran the speed test from the cox page and just got : download = 60.29 upload = 7.29. These are both MUCH better than I got the other day. It was 30-something for download then. So it appears I'm doing better.

What make/model router do you have? Have you tried testing your connection without the router yet?
