Slow and sometimes not work internet COX
I have been having a lot of problems with sites timing out on my COX internet. Sometimes I get an error that the DNS timed out and most of the time I just get a message the the internet did not respond.

Cox DNS servers seem to be down in the Rhode Island market. May be the problem where you are.

Not just DNS servers. Their TFTP servers were down, all call routing into call center, email, etc. This outage show's Cox's dependence on outside vendors for their network. Was a Level3 issue, but I am not buying the "we cut a fiber" BS. A single fiber doesn't effect the entire NE coast and Asia.

In what city and state ere are you located? Are you able to provide a few examples of web sites that you have difficulty getting to respond?

All looks to be resolved related to the HUUUUUGE outage. Any word from Cox why they depend on one company for the bandwidth for the entire NE of the US? Does Cox have no redundancy in their network? This outage was a embarrassment for all involved.

Cox is a "technically challenged" company. Before I retired, I built and maintained fiber optic rings in the Northeast. We provided business class internet and telephone service throughout the region. A complete cable cut in one location would only disrupt service for 50 milliseconds so I have total confidence in stating that Cox is "technically challenged".
