Should I turn off my Contour box?

I just brought home and installed two new Contour DVR boxes (6&2).  Everything seems to be working great but when I hit the All Power button on the remote it will turn off my TV but does not turn off the cable box. I have to manually press the button on the box with the blue ring to turn it off. Are they designed to stay on all the time? I do not have the small client box, just the two larger DVR boxes.   I guess I can just set it to go into power save mode after a few hours of non-use?  Seems like when I hit the All Power off button, it should at least put the box into a stand-by mode. Is there a way to do that?
