SBG6580 firmware upgrade

What is the newest firmware upgrade available for the SBG6580? I'm on SBG6580-3.5.8.4-GA-00-505-NOSH, which is very old and does not allow me to configure my own DNS servers (OpenDNS).  According to manufacturer guides, version 8.5.x provides this functionality.  My current workaround is to disable DHCP and wireless and just use it in bridge mode as a modem and use a separate wireless router.  But the wireless router has 100Mb interfaces, so I don't get the full 150Mb I should be getting.  Please let me know if you can upgrade my modem to version 8.x, and if not, how soon this might be possible.  Thanks.

Unfortunately that remains to be the most current approved firmware version for use with our network.  A more practical solution to your OpenDNS problem might be to to back to connecting to the 6580 as a router and manually configuring the DNS settings on your client devices.

Are you kidding, Chris?  That can be totally unmanageable.  Every-time you bring a new device into your home or give a guest access to your WiFi, you have to remember to manually configure DNS settings.  In a household with only a few devices, sure.  But, in todays household with many devices and new ones added frequently, no way.  It's only my wife & myself but we have 22 devices that use DHCP, not counting guests, like our grandkids, who bring their tablets when they come to visit.

@aircooled, I recommend getting rid of the gateway and replacing it with a stand-a-lone modem and a new gigabit router.  Then you can do what you want.  I think all Cox gateways have bridge mode disabled so you are still double-NATing with your config, can cause problems.
