Samsung Smart TV doesn't recognize wifi
Even when I manually enter the IP address I get error msg that it's an invalid MAC address. Never had a problem with it on Xfinity in 3 different homes in 2 different states! Maybe it's a Cox problem? My Mac picks up the signal fine. Tried to DL SaMsung update from their site (as suggested in another forum), but the TV didn't recognize it on the 2 dif ext drives I tried to load it from (prob a x-platform issue w/ Mac and Samsung-I know lots of their apps are android only)...Spent lots of hold time w/ samsung only to be disconnected!! HELP!!! I'M SICK OF THIS NOT-SO-SMART TV - - WHAT DID I PAY ALL THAT $$ FOR??!! I want my Netflix, Crackle and everything else back!!! Its model UN32EH5300FXZA

This is an Internet problem, not a cable TV issue. Maybe a Mod should move this to the Internet Forum, it doesn't belong here.
tej, do you have Cox Internet? What gateway or router do you have? It's a connection issue between your TV and your WiFi router. This is a Cox forum, not Samsung. Yelling in all caps is not cool, we have nothing to do with Samsung. We may be able to help with general network connectivity but not specifics of that model Samsung.

Why are you entering (assigning) an IP address? To connect to a wireless network, you only select the network name and enter the encryption key. Your wireless router will assign the IP address.
If your TV is close to the router, I'd opt for a wired connection to better handle the bandwidth of Netflix, Crackle, etc.

Hi Tej,
You will get the best performance with a wired connection from the TV to your Gateway or router. I suggest starting at the very beginning of your TV's network connection setup process, and look for the name of your home network in the list of available networks.

+1 Need to know what you have for your network. Wifi is not magic. It takes tweaking of even good equipment to get optimal streaming. Sounds like you might have a gateway which will usually have sub-par wireless and throughput. I think the answer is going to be get a stand alone modem and wireless router, but we (forum users) would be happy to try to suggest tweaks for what ever device you have.

-1. It's not a connectivity issue yet...it's a configuration issue.
