Router suggestions
I'm getting a Motorola SB6141 modem and am now looking for router to go with it but not sure which type to get or consider when looking. I live in a small, two story apartment and will be watching streaming movies on a smart tv, and on a roku upstairs in addition to a wireless desktop. My Encore ENHWI-N3 802.11n router has no problem reaching upstairs so I don't need anything powerful. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I like Smallnetreview. I guess I dont have any 5Ghz devices. My PC is 2.4 and I have no idea what my 2013 Samsung smart tv is. So I dont need the 5Ghz.. That's great news. Thanks Health Edge you've been a great help.

Whats you price point? I only ask because it makes it alot easier to narrow down the hundreds of different routers. The Dlink DIR-655 is a good basic choice. It has been around a while and has very good reviews. Also, take a look at the Buffalo WZR-300HP.
I noticed the Encore router has multiple SSID, is this something you need?

I would suggest getting a Router that accepts DD-WRT custom firmware as you will get the most of it.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm hoping to spend under a hundred for one and I see there are plenty out there and some even have good reviews. I am technologically challenged when it comes to WiFi so it makes choosing one all the harder. I do know that I want a dual channel but that's about it.I'm looking at TP-LINK TL-WDR3500 right now.
Small home so Speed over strength. Other than that there is nothing extra that i need but my Encore will be used as a repeater because my desktop is across the room and a cable's not an option.
I've looked into DD-RT as well as Tomato but I think that's way beyond my technical comfort zone. Is there a site, besides NewEgg that let's you compare items? That would make this so much easier.
Again, Thank you for all the replies and I'll look into those recommended routers.

Try Amazon and Smallnetreview. Never used TP-Link but their reviews look decent.
Also, do you have devices capable of connecting at 5Ghz? Also, most 5Ghz uses are for some room media streaming. If were talking a few rooms away, usually 2.4Ghz N will be better. This isn't considering AC which is a different beast. I think you will be able to get a better (for under 50$) router if you sacrafice the 5ghz since more chips will be dedicated to the 2.4ghz band.
