I set mine up exactly as noted below. It worked!!!! The only thing I need to remember is to leave the tv and vcr on channel 3. Set the mini box to the channel you want to record (my case channel 10). When using the timer on the vcr, set the time and date you want to record but the channel must still show that you want to record channel 3, since that is the only channel the vcr recognizes now. When playing back the tape, I don't have to change channels since the tv is already set to channel 3. I am a happy camper since channel 10 Monday thru Friday for an hour is the only thing I want to record anyway. This set up is not good for those who would like to record multiple shows throughout the week without having to physically remember to change the channel on the mini box each show. But it works for me for now.
I would like to think Cox would be able to come up with a different solution to be able to record more programs but I will take what I can get.

Did you find a way to record on your vcr? Please let me know. Since we went all digital, I don't know how to connect and record.
Thanks,
Rhonda

Rhonda, did you look at that thread AllenP posted? There is a simple picture showing you how to connect a mini-box to a VCR.
