proxy server isn't responding
My Windows 8 laptop proxy server isn't responding. I go to Tools - Internet options - Connections - Land settings and the proxy server is check - Advanced has the right IP address with HTTP and the right port:. If I go and check "Automatically detect settings" like my Windows 7 laptop which works the Windows 8 laptop won't hold the settings?

If this question is about your Cox Internet service we do not use proxy servers therefore one should not be configured on any of your PCs. If you need to use a proxy server for your work or some other service it may be necessary to reach out to their support to determine the correct settings.

It's perfectly OK for automatically detect proxy settings to be checked. You can uncheck the rest and click OK for the settings to take then restart IE.
