Problem with upload speeds
For the past 3 days we've had a rough time with our upload speed. Its been very slow and i'm not able to stream on twitch (which I do often) However the past few days its been very slow. To slow to stream. I haven't hit my data limit yet. I'm directly connected to the computer (ran virus and malware all clear) I have a tech coming tomorrow but I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do. Thanks

First, could you post results from Cox speed test on a wired desktop? If you want another one for comparsion, try DSLR Test.
Second, what modem/router/gateway do you have? Their model numbers should be printed somewhere on them. Or pick from the list here.
You might also want to see here and here for more info on Twitch troubleshooting and tweaking.
Last, what are your modem's signal levels? Should be available at 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1 depending on the model based on the 2nd question. Copy/paste into reply.

From this end it seems the router is only establishing a 10Mbps connection to the modem. Can you try connecting a computer directly to the modem and see if that works better?

My modem is a DCP3010
http://testmy.net/db/e7NtYAXEd
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5156235279
Cox Speed test says Last Result:
Download Speed: 69501 kbps (8687.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 7584 kbps (948 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 50 ms
Jitter: 5 ms

However on all twitch servers (there are multiple) I'm getting around the 1.2mpbs upload speed
I'm assuming these are the signal levels

It appears something has changed as now I'm seeing a gigabit connection between the modem and the device plugged into it. Have your speeds improved any?

Unfortunately no. I'm not sure what the problem is. It's very frustrating. I know that the cox speed test says its fine, but, I've tried multiple twitch servers (there are around 10) and I'm not getting anything above 1.2mbps upload. It was fine for a month I'm just not sure why its happening now
Is there anything else I can do to try and fix this problem?
Also I want to make sure you guys understand its really just upload speed that's the problem. My Download speed is acceptable to me at 50+mbps

Can you try connecting a different PC directly to the modem then resetting it and see if that works better?

Just used my laptop and it hovered around the same 1.8 mbps on trymy.net and speedtest.net so at least I know it isn't my network card. Any other advice?

Could you try again with the laptop and run some speed tests by signing into your http://www.cox.com account?

The tech was just here but the problem could not be resolved by him. He said there was an slight problem but it wasn't out of the range of normal it just wasn't ideal. And it wasn't on my end. He put in a ticket so a Cox worker can come next time. I showed him how I try to connect to 12 different twitchservers and they all have about the same upload speed sometimes as low as 900kbps. If you would like to see this I'd be more than happy too show you
There still is a problem here that wasn't around a few days ago.

When I look now the modem is back to reporting now only a 100Mbps connection. Did the technician try testing with a different modem by chance to see if that helps?

I plugged the router back in since it wasn't making a difference. No he did not check with a different modem. Should another tech come back and see if a new modem would fix the problem?

I also want to let you guys know I'm 100% willing to pay more money to fix this problem. I don't mind paying more as long as I get what I want. I've seriously debated updating to ultimate but I don't want to if it doesn't fix this problem. Do you guys have a trial or something where I can upgrade for a few days or a month and then if I don't like it drop it back down?

We're both in Pensacola apparently, and I can tell you we have Ultimate and we are having the same problem as you.
