Premier Speeds
I have been a premier customer for some time now. I have consistently only had 15-25 Mbps up and down. This weekend I upgraded from an old DOCSIS 1 to the Netgear CG3000D from Cox. I had to pay for the unit/upgrade even though it was supposed to be free via my phone call to Cox when ordered.. It was provisioned and is working properly, but there is no difference in speedtests via Cox internet tools. This is a direct wired connection to the unit. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

Hi - are moderators still monitoring this thread? And if so, could someone please check my service code? Thanks.

Yes, and yes. Correction was needed, and has been done.

Thanks Kip! A little frustrating that I chatted with 3 different people using the online chat and even provided the link to this forum post and they all said the code had been updated. But I am definitely grateful you were able to help me out. Thanks!!!

Can someone please check if my service code needs to be updated? Just upgraded to Docsis 3.0 (6141) and only getting 27 Mbps d/l on Premier.

@lvjordan238 your modem did show the old information, and should be updated currently so you should be able to test the speeds again.

Have you thought of perhaps creating a sticky and maybe renaming this thread "Post here to check for correct service code"? Just a thought.

You know, I have actually been thinking about asking the boss if I could do something similar, but in a new thread.

Can I get my service code checked as well. I upgraded to the DOCSIS 3.0 modem (Cisco DPC3010) in June and upgraded to Premier service this week. Thanks.

Thanks for checking. Somebody did change my service code yesterday and speeds are as advertised.

I recently upgraded to Premier from Preferred and found my speeds far below the 50 Mbps advertised. A tech came to my home yesterday, checked all connections and replaced my Motorola SB6120 modem with a Cisco DPQ3212 model, which eliminated another Motorola unit which was used for my telephone service. My download speeds have routinely been about 25-30 Mbps. Is that what I should expect from a service that advertises speeds of 50 Mbps?
I understand that speeds will vary, but nearly 40% lees than expected, fall sort in my opinion. The tech who performed my service said everything from the connection in front of my house to the modem are all as good as they can be. Is there something farther down the line that needs to be adjusted?

Your service code is correct and your signals are good, so the next step would be to bypass the router (it reads as a Netgear MAC address currently connected), reboot the EMTA, and try a speed test with a single device connected.
Since this isn't an issue related to what has become the main topic of this thread, I suggest you start a new thread or email us at coxhelp@cox.com if the problem persists once you've tried it with the router bypassed.
