Premier internet not as advertised?

So I just upgraded my internet to premier, and based from the website (http://www.cox.com/residential/internet.cox) my download speed can be as high as 100 mbps. So far, the fastest dl speed I achieved is 66 mbps. Am I missing something here?

I live in Socal (Irvine'sh)

I have Motorola Surfboard sb6121 (upgrade to 8x4 modem?)

A new Asus AC56U router

EDIT: I forgot to add that why is the upload speed crappy? (4mbps still even with premier)

A 8x4 modem probably wouldn't hurt.

What are your signal levels? 192.168.100.1

Hi ClixT,

Based on the information you provided it sounds like you should be able to reach those speeds.  Are you using a wireless connection or are you using ethernet?  One way to test the speeds is to connect the PC directly to the modem and see what the results are.  Then test an ethernet connection to the router to see if the speeds are the same, improve, or worst. -Derrick

I'm connected to the router using an Ethernet cable. I'll check your advise when I get home. As for the signal, the power level on the downstream channels is 1dbmv and the signal to noise ratio is 37. For the upstream power level, it has 49 dbmv
