Poor upload speed
I'm experiencing poor upload speeds, consistently under 3, often under 2. This has been going on since yesterday. I believe my level of service should be quite a bit higher.
Interestingly, I got perfectly fine results using the speed test on Cox's site, but got poor results (all consistent, again all around 2 up) from 3 different other sites. I'm not convinced that the problem lies with all those sites, as I had this exact same experience during last year, which ended up only being resolved by several tech visits, each of which did find problems. Plus, it's backed up by the sheer fact that my usage of upload (uploading streaming video) reflects the poor results.
Whatever the case, I need this to be resolved soon, and I'm hoping this isn't a continuation of the problems I had last year, which spanned months of calling in again and again.
I don't know what info would be needed to help resolve this, but just let me know.

I checked out the modem from this end however everything appears to be correct there as far as I can tell. Would it be possible to try connecting a PC directly to the modem and pushing the reset button on the modem to see if that helps at all?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, no difference. I also tried the same speedtests on another device, similar results.

From this end I'm still seeing a device with only a 100Mbps port connected to the modem. If that's a router it's probably not going to be up to the task of sharing a 10Mbps Internet connection. However if you have tried connecting directly and are also seeing speed issues there may also be something else going on. It might be necessary at this point to arrange for a technician to come out and troubleshoot further.

Thanks for the response, but as of that day, the problem seems to have been solved. I waited a couple days before posting to make sure it didn't become slow again.
I made no changes or anything, but suddenly I'm getting the proper speed on all devices. I'm still a little concerned, but I figured I shoudn't wait too long before updating this again. Thanks for the responses.

I kind of wanted to follow this because I am having a similar problem. I had internet installed Sunday and every time I do an upload it starts out great and then I lose my connection completely. Only a complete modem re boot will get me back online at that point. It is very disappointing.

I'm not seeing any obvious indicators of trouble when I look at the connection from our end. Are you able to try testing this with a wired connection to see if you have the same problems that way? -Chris
