Phone line dow?

When I call my landline I get this message "We're sorry due to telephone facility trouble your call can not be completed at this time please try your call again later" - what is the problem and just how long will I be without phone service?

Do you have a dial tone on your landline? If so, your phone is probably forwarded wrong, use *73 to unforwarded it. 

If no dial tone, next thing I would check is that all your landlines are on the hook and working normally. Look especially for any phone you might not use a lot, like in the garage or a fax machine. Once that is confirmed, unplug all the phones and leave them unplugged for about 5min and test again with with one phone, preferably a corded phone. This is to basically reset the phone system, to get rid of any error state the line may be in. 

If that doesn't work, there could be something wrong with your phone equipment, and probably need a technician.

I am having the same issue here.  No dial tone. We've disconnected everything and reconnected just one. It still frustrating but tech is coming tomorrow to look at it.

One simple step you can try to quickly isolate the type of problem you're having is to disconnect the phone lines for your telephone modem and try plugging a phone directly into line 1 and see if you get dial tone that way.  If that works the problem is something related to your inside wiring or a phone or other device connected to it.
