Hello

Pac 12 is on channel 75 and 1075 in AZ. You can find this info at http://ww2.cox.com/residential/tv/channel-lineup.cox?campcode=gn_r_tv_lineup .

Strange that the SD and HD versions of the PAC-12 Network are part of "TV Essential" in Arizona, but in San Diego, one must purchase the "Sports & Info Pak" and the "Contour HD Channels."

Why is Contour needed for these channels in San Diego, but not in Arizona?

Hello Domino,

Our channel line-ups change from market to market. This is done for several reasons, i.e. local regulations, contractual obligation, demographic testing, bandwidth and frequencies available, etc. This is why we occasionally change our channel lineups. By moving the channel assignments, we are expanding our ability to offer additional channels in the future and providing more value to our customers.

Plus, you figure San Diego customers can afford the $25+/month extra to receive this channel, right?

Maybe people in Arizona, which has two Pac 12 schools, are more likely to want it than people in San Diego, which has none.

Comparing a state to a city? How about state vs. state? California has FOUR Pac-12 schools to Arizona's two. Just Southern California has two Pac-12 schools. Even areas in Los Angeles and Orange counties must purchase the Contour package (extra $$) to get the Pac-12 HD channel, but not in Arizona. They get it free.

Actually I am comparing two Arizona cities, Phoenix and Tucson, each of which has a Pac 12 school to one California city, San Diego, which does not.  LA is a different matter, and I agree that it makes less sense that they don't get it without paying more.

Nice dance, but that doesn't explain why customers in, say, Pasadena and San Pedro have to pay as well. ***, the Bruins play their home games in Pasadena.
