Outlook app setup with cox email

Hello,

I am trying to setup my cox email on my iPhone6 using the outlook app. The outlook app does not have an option for pop, only IMAP. I have followed the cox website instruction (incoming / outgoing server, ports, SSL etc) to the T. Unfortunately, the app keeps telling me that it cannot login, user name or password is incorrect. I know that this is NOT the case because I can use the same credentials to login to the cox webmail. Does Cox support IMAP?

Hi Allanhelp, Yes we do. You want to make sure that you are using imap.cox.net, the port number for imap is 993 and SSL has to be enabled. You may want to completely remove your email address from the Outlook app and then restart your iPhone and then try and re-add your email address to Outlook. -Steff

Thank you- I have done exactly as you said and still no go. Is there anything on the cox side that I need to do to have it work with IMAP?

By chance are you including @cox.net on the end of your username? The login will fail if it's included.
