One Time Payment not working?

See "One Time Payment Broken" for continued discussion. 

I logged in today as I always do each month to make my payment and it will not take me to the correct place to enter my payment information.  It will let me through if I click on easy pay, but not if I am asking to make a one time payment.  Is this service down currently? Please help.

We had the same problem, same time this evening. Have called and sent email to Cox.

I got this response from online chat support:

It appears that there is a temporary outage with online payment and the automatic system.  Currently, there is no estimated time of repair. We do apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.At this moment the only way is make the payment from our agents by Phone.

One time payment worked this afternoon, April 17, 2012.

(Note on making payment by phone: only available during the regular business hours, so it was not possible to pay by phone on the evening and night of April 16.)

*** that no one bothered to respond to this post, because this issue seems to be persisting over a month later.  There's another post on May 3rd regarding this same issue I think.  Looks like some Cox specialists confirmed that, indeed, there is an issue with their online bill pay system. 

So, it's been at least 36 days since this post and Cox still can't fix One-Time payment or at the very least post an alert that this service is not functional presently?

In an aside, what does it say about your Internet Service Provider if they can't even manage a website that's able to handle online bill payments - a feature that has been in widespread use for a decade or more.  It's not a convenience or a luxury for a company to offer online billing -- it's an expectation now.

But since Cox has a monopoly on Cable an Internet is some areas, why should they care about poor service.

I apologize that we did not respond to this thread. There have been a few days out of the last two months that the Cox online Billpay system has been unavailable. Online Billpay has not been down for a complete month.

It may not have been down for a month but they waited that long to send my April payment through and then doubled the amount.  Great system!
