Nothing but slow speeds.
Ever since I got my 300 mbs download and 30 upload I have gotten nothing but slow speeds except for the first day.
Now since then I range from 7mbs download to the max I've seen 51 mbps download. My upload is perfect at 30+
I am getting annoyed due to the fact that I pay for these services and the results are not showing.

How are you testing, wired or wireless? To get a true test, please use a gigabit wired connection and post the result. Thanks. What modem/router/gateway are you using?

I see the speedtest but you didn't answer the main question, was that test wired (gigabit link) or wireless (what band and standard, n or ac)?

Does your Arris TG2472 plug into a power strip or surge protector? It is showing an unusually high number of power adjustments. Follow the steps at http://bit.ly/CoxInternetSpeedTest to log in and run the Cox Internet Tools Speed Test. This will provide us with detailed modem metrics to help troubleshoot the speed issues you are experiencing. Please run the Cox Internet Tools Speed Test a few times so we can look at the results.

@Becky I think you might be unclear on what power adjustments mean in the context of modem diagnostics.
Power adjustments, on a modem, are usually an artifact of frequent adjustments in the Tx power levels - which usually indicates either intermittent noise, loose/deteriorated connections, improper weather cladding (or deteriorated), ingress issues, cable partial cuts, or pedestal/demarc issues. It could also be a failing transceiver on the modem itself. If your tools provide a historical tracking capability, check to see if there are wild swings in the Tx values (more than +/- 2 to 3 pts), accumulation of T4/T3 errors, or other weird signal issues.

I see you are using Phoenix servers for speedtest.net - can you check if it is using the sharop.com server? That one is known to be bandwidth limited. I doubt that is the case, but I have seen it mis-report my own speeds.
That's why i tend to use/check several different testers:
http://fast.com
http://speed.googlefiber.net
http://speedtest.net
And of course the Cox one.
Example - both of these tests ran back to back, one was using the sharop.com server the other used a different server in Phx

Thanks for running the Cox Internet Tools Speed Test yesterday. Your download speeds for the two tests were 338.56 Mbps and 362.46 Mbps! This tells us that the speed issue you've encountered is not located on the Cox network. Can you provide a few website URLs as examples of sites that are particularly frustrating for you?
