No e-mail
Why is my e-mail not responding? I have 5 new e-mails but I can't get to them. Is the system down? (Emailing replies to this post won't work.)

Many of us have had this problem. Cox said it is a problem with a server. The emails are there but are not getting to your inbox. Rebooting the computer; deleting cookies; clearing the cache..... nothing works. I can sometimes get the emails to arrive if i wait a few minutes with the email program open. Sometimes clicking on GET MAIL can make them appear.
The good news is that the problem is intermittent. The bad news is that you need to tell co-workers to phone you if it is something important. Some emails are taking hours to arrive.
Where are you located?

I am getting my email on my iPhone, but not on either Mac. I finally started forwarding the emails I want to read on a Mac to my gmail or iCloud addresses from my phone. I may go to the senders and change my email address if this doesn't get fixed soon.

I posted the following on another question, but that is marked as solved. However, it is not solved for me.
I have been having E-mail problems for about 2-1/2 weeks. The dialogue box with "server does not recognize..." message, inability to log on at times, and horrible delays in getting some emails (showing up hours after they were sent to me). I've called tech support twice. I have a ticket at level 2.5 whatever that is worth. The last time I called, I was told among other things: it could take 30 days to resolve, don't call them again/they will call me (yeah, right), the emails were probably in my spam folder and I didn't realize it (again, yeah right). The one tech support person was nice, polite and listened to me, and the other one was the opposite. I'm very, very frustrated.
Yesterday, the problems weren't too bad. Today, they are bad. Today, I had one email arrive about 7 hours after it was sent. Others were 2+ hours delayed, and some arrived in a timely manner. This happens with a variety of email addresses so it isn't a problem with a particular server. I use Outlook, but am having the same problems with webmail. I've started copying my gmail account, and there are no problems with delays there.
I don't understand why Cox won't acknowledge and fix the problem.

We are aware of the issues with interment delays on incoming mail and it is being looked into currently. Problems without a client getting login errors or unable to send/recieve would be a different problem as they should sync up to what is currently showing on the server. If you get issues signing in or error messages on the Mail client please let us know and we can approach them separately.

I am pleased to hear that you are aware of the email delay problem and are working on it. That has not been the response I've gotten from tech support when I've called.
Numerous times a day, I get the internet password pop up box asking me to enter my password. Whether I click ok (to accept the password that is there) or re-enter my password, the box keeps popping up until I close it or click cancel. I then get the following email error message
Task 'xxxxxx@cox.net - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR mail storage services unavailable, wait a few minutes and try again.'
(where there are xxx's above is where my email address is).
It has happened 5 or 6 times this morning.

@gcl, i marked that other question as "solved" because that answer helped me to know that i was not alone with my problem. Of course, that answer did not "solve" my problem; but it saved me from holding on the phone for a long time to speak to a Cox technician. That is a huge help when email won't work. When i did get a technician on the phone, he said that a server had to be "reset". That is good news because it means that Cox knows there is a problem; and that they will get it fixed sooner or later. I can telephone friends and co-workers to warn them not to send me urgent emails during the troubleshooting. I am hoping that Cox creates a Current Problems page for us to check when we experience a problem (unless the problem is connecting online).

@yak. I understand what you mean - I was so relieved when I found this forum because at least I had verification I wasn't alone.
A current problems page with updates on expected resolution would be a great help. One of my biggest frustrations on this is not knowing if 1) Cox was acknowledging the problems, and 2) what was being done. Not knowing if this problem was going to continue for days, weeks, months, or indefinitely was scary (while I have a Cox business service for internet, I have continued to use my cox.net email address).

I have been having issues getting mail on my iPhone for the past few months. I also do have a mac and do not experience this issue. I cant send mail on my iPhone at all. I called Technical support and they did not help at all. They only told me what I have already done and did nothing about it. COX NEEDS TO SUPPORT/FIX IPHONE MAIL SERVER.

I get email on my phone just fine, but no Cox email ever reaches my computer. I can also send just fine from computer or phone. I used my phone to forward most of my Cox email to my gmail account, so I could read it on my Mac. Today, I looked for account links on all my Cox email and used them to go change my email address on each sender. I meant to do that some time ago, in case I ever need to leave Cox. I have a few more places to get rid of my Cox address, then I can leave any time. Some of my regular email is junk, so I didn't bother to change those.

Could you clarify: he >should< be seeing problems on his iphone?
I've been seeing some similar problems off and on for about a month or so in Orange County, CA. When I first turn on my computer, I have to attempt to login to email several times before I am accepted - I get the message that something wasn't sent correctly (you'd think I'd have memorized it by now, but not yet). Basically, a message that my email client forgot a step. This is all when I am home, using Cox as my ISP.
The funny thing is that on the weekend I have been connecting from another location, through Time Warner, so I'm "outside" the Cox network. I am using the same notebook - aside from my local IP address, ALL settings are exactly unchanged. I have been watching for a couple of weeks, just to see if the behavior is consistent, and it is. From outside, everything works amazingly well. Logins go smoothly, the first time, and both sending and receiveing email is practically instantaneous. I would have expected the opposite - that "inside" would be both better and faster. I hope this offers some sort of clue that might help figure out what is going on.
In particular, since I have no idea how the various parts of the Cox network are related, I wonder if folks attempting to debug the situation from Atlanta are seeing the "same" network as folks in Arizona and California??

That looping behavior without error message you've described is often seen when the browser is having some kind of a cookie problem. I'd suggest clearing cookies and resetting your browser to defaults to make sure cookies aren't being blocked and try again.

I've talked to tech support many times in the last 5 days: two different computers using two different browsers as well as two additional mobile devices ... all unable to access my email. Tech support admits that it is a server issue. What I don't understand is why it is taking so long to fix the problem. If an internet service provider can't fix/repair/replace a server in under 24 hrs, then maybe they shouldn't be in the ISP business.

While the delayed email receipt problem seems to be improved, knock wood, I still get the popup box asking for password, then the error message that the server has rejected my log in numerous times a day. I suppose I should be grateful for the improvement, but I've been having these problems for three weeks or more.
