New to RI, new to COX and wishing I had the same features I had at old location (using Cablevision)
There is a feature that I had with Cablevision. When planning my move an setting up a new account with COX, I was assured that this same feature was available. I work from home. With Cablevision I was able to set it up so that when my landline rang, it also rang on my cell phone. If I was already on a call with the landline, I had the ability to take the second call using my cell phone without putting my landline call on hold. (Cell was not with Cablevision).
Any chance this is something that is being considered?
Would also like to see the ability to look at incoming call list and have a link that automatically blocks a number from any future calls. I see that this has been voiced repeatedly.
The real question is: Is the purpose of this forum only to learn how to use what services exist or is it also a place where we can suggest things, as I am here, and know that they are being relayed to the decision makers at COX?

You may be talking about the feature "Call forward Busy" That would make your cell phone ring if your home phone was in use. The only problem is it doesn't work with Voicemail because the call cant go to Voicemail AND the cell phone at the same time.
If your looking for something more advanced you may want to look at Voicemanager, which is a Cox Business Product. The feature you may want is called "Simultaneous ring" under the Voicemanager Anywhere package. That package also has "Anonymous call rejection" which is a more advanced version of the residential feature by the same name. Allows you to block other call types then just ones marked private. Unfortunately the features are only offered as a package, and would cost more then a normal residential phone line.
