Netgear CG4500BD
I have a Netgear CG4500BD modem. I noticed the the downstream and upstream lights on the front are blue AND blinking. The user guide does not identify what that means.
Does anybody know what blue blinking downstream/upstream lights mean?

Just an update. I ended up returning the Netgear modem/router from Cox at a Cox location. They gave me a service credit for it.
I bought just a standalone modem from the store and I use a separate router. No more lag spikes!

Not sure why they are blinking during normal operation, but as long as your online, you should be OK. The lights are green if the modem is bonding on one downstream channel and blue if bonding on multiple channels. See here for more info.

Well that's the thing. When streaming video online, there are lots of times where the sound drops out (no matter where we are streaming from). This is through a wired and wireless (wifi) connection. Also, while playing World of Warcraft online, I get a lot of lag spikes (a few times a minute, everything ingame stops for about 5 seconds). And it's not my PC freezing up.
I was just trying to see if it was due to the downstream/upstream lights blinking. Maybe the modem is intermittently loosing a connection.

Do the lights only blink when your having a problem? They downstream and upstream lights blink normally as the modem comes online and scans the downstream and upstream frequencies. Maybe your seeing the modem reboot/resync but this would interrupt internet completely during the whole process. Sounds more like the lights are normal and you're having some other connection issue.
What video streaming are you having problems with? Netflix? Youtube? All of them? When it happens on one PC/device, do all the devices connected have a problem?
As for WoW, try posting a tracert as per their support article.

I have the streaming problem with all streaming services. I'm not sure if I have a problem on any other device at the time because when I'm streaming, I'm not using any other device.
Also, the lights blink all the time. They never stop blinking blue.

I'd like to get to the bottom of this for you. When the DS and US lights blink do they seem to blink in sync with the activity light? I think I've found your account and am not seeing anything jump out at me as far as the modem's connection to our network goes. If you have a moment please sign in at http://bit.ly/CoxSpeedTest on a wired device (with the wireless turned off) and report back with the results.
