A long time ago I created a username/password combo for my gateway/router modem (DPC3825). Guess what I have no idea what they are. Is there any way I can clear reset the beastie? I wish to assign a bunch of internal static IP addresses based on MAC addresses but I can't get into the bloody thing. Any help would be much appreciated!

The only way to reset the password to get into the gateway is to reset the whole unit back to factory default. To do so, you need to press the reset button on the back (next to where coaxial connects) for 15 seconds. See here for more info. After this is done, you will need to reconfigure the network name and password, assuming they are different from the default.
