My modem router is not working, why?

I did not use my computer (the laptop is the only one I have) for two weeks while on vacation. Upon my return, it cannot get into the internet because "I am not connected to the Internet" (even if the little antenna is live and well.) I have done the turn every-thing-off, started in order and it works immediately, after few minutes, it says again that I am disconnected. This is an almost new (one year?) router. What is happening? I am paying for a service that I cannot use. I appreciate your help, or should I call AT&T?  :)

Hi Pepe,

I can help you with your connection issue.  It sounds like your modem and router are not communicating with each other. Have you tried a direct connection from your modem to your laptop to see if you can get online?  That would be one way to tell if it is a modem or a router issue.  I can take a look at everything on our end, if you could e-mail me the account information (name, full street address) at coxhelp@cox.com, we'll get to the bottom of it!
