Multiple remotes in same room without changing both cable boxes

I have two tvs in the man room with two digital boxes (one DVR, one digital box). Even with each tv having a remote programmed to control it, I can find no way to keep from changing the channel on both cable boxes with either remote, except by doing all kinds of rubber band man contortions which my wife won't do and then we end up paying for two pay per view movies when she only had one tv on. Is there any way to have multiple tvs and change the channel on one box but not the other? Thanks.

Unless you have two different boxes, there is no way to control them separately. They both use the same IR code, and there is only one code that will work. You can get a IR blaster, which can physically move the location of the sensor (so not so much Mr bendy).

There might be a option using HDMI-CEC if your equipment is compatible, but I will leave that for the experts to discuss.
