Motorola sb6141 slow speeds ultimate tier

Hi I recently upgraded to the ultimate tier but have only been getting roughly half the advertised speed. I consistently pull around 80 mbps down and 25ish up. Only a few times have I gotten a speed test over 100.   Two techs have come out and confirmed I have good signal.  36 to 38 snr downstream power 3 to 4 and upstream power of 45.  I see so many posts where a code was incorrect or the configuration file was not right.  I really just want someone to check that everything is setup correctly.   Other people with the same modem and signal levels seem to be pulling much higher speeds.

any info is much appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't think it's a service code issue because thats only for people with Premier. You may be able to check your configuration file to be sure though, it should be on Help tab in the modems diagnostics.

Were you getting 100/20 when the technician installed Ultimate?

Model Name: SB6141
Vendor Name: Motorola
Firmware Name: SB_KOMODO-1.0.6.12-SCM00-NOSH
Boot Version: PSPU-Boot(25CLK) 1.0.12.18m3
Hardware Version: 7.0
Serial Number: 374781300822584009020022
Firmware Build Time: Mar 12 2013 17:48:19

That's the info on my help page. When the tech was here speeds were the same we had 2 or 3 that broke 100 Mbps.

I just ran 5 tests on the Verizon test( apparently I exceeded the amount on the cox test page) page a few minutes apart and got this:

89.76 down 18.45 up

89.20 down 18.31 up

91.84 down 17.85 up

91.47 down 17.96 up

88.87 down 19.33 up

While it's consistent and that' great I still don't understand how on a service that I see people pulling much closer to the advertised 150, I can't seem to get reliable service over even 100.  Is that normal?

Thanks.

When the service was installed, was 100Mbps the speed of the Ultimate Tier? Another words, when it was installed, was everything 100%? If not, did he give a reason why not?

Also, are these tests done direct to the modem? And I forgot the configuration file only shows on the SB6180 and maybe the SB6182, my mistake.

150 at the time of install; and both techs were just like Well that's what you get I guess.  Gave me the " speeds are only up to 150" bs :)  Yeah these test are direct to the modem.  My wifi is another issue I have to sort out as I'm only get 33-50% of the hardwire speed over wifi.  I used to get speeds that were virtually the same wired or wireless but a firmware update seems to have screwed that up.

Good times,

Thanks.

Could be congestion then, and they do have the right to sell the service as is. Maybe post your complete signal levels and maybe I can see something that is off, something besides normal stuff, that might be causing the problem. If not, I don't think i will be of any more help. :-(

If bypassing fixes it, try disabling the QoS on the router. Its not needed with most modern network these days anyway.

QoS is disabled.  I'm not sure why my 2.4Ghz speeds are so much slow than my 5Ghz... as they used to run about the same. However, hardwired to the modem my speeds are more consistent about 80 down 25 up.  They are just slow...good signal levels should mean I am able to obtain optimal speeds right? The last few on the cox test page this morning were all hardwired.  I'm curious if there is anyone near me that is getting speeds close to the 150.

Thanks.
